WHAT IS A CERTIFIED TRANSLATION SERVICE?
In short, it is an officially recognised translation of a document. Thus allowing one to present this document to authorities in the UK or abroad.
Importantly, as an agency Accredited to ISO1700 in quality management, we specialise in official legally recognised translation services.
Furthermore, a certified translation service UK means the translation agency, issues an officially signed statement of truth. As a result, this will confirm the translation is an accurate one. Similarly, such translations are usually needed if submitting documents to official bodies.

ARE THERE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF CERTIFICATION?
To clarify there are three main levels of Certification in the UK. Most importantly, we offer all of them!
However, each level of certification comes with increased costs and timescales ( usually out of our control and set by 3rd parties ).
Certification
This is a Standard level of certification and is sufficient for most cases in the UK. Importantly the translation is stamped and signed by a recognised professional or agency that confirms the accuracy. Additionally, this level of Certified Translation is accepted by any UK body or official institute.
Notarization
One stage above is a Notarized Translation. In addition, the Translation is then signed in front of a Notary who also signs and seals the document. This service is sometimes needed for legal trials and if the documents are being presented abroad, for example. This is sometimes referred to as a Notary translation.
Legalization (Apostille)
Likewise, when a translation is being presented to an overseas body such as a Foreign Embassy, a Legalisation or Apostille is also required. This is usually referred to as a document translation and Apostille.
In short, this is where the FCO validate the Notarized Translation. Importantly, the FCO Stamp and sign the document and attach an Apostille. Once complete, this legalised translation can be used in any country signed up to the Hague convention. In short, Certified legal translation services need an Apostille and Notary stamp.

2 – Notarised Translation – Signed and stamped in front of a Notary Public who also seals and signs the document.
3 – Apostille / Legalised Translation – Signed and stamped, sealed by Notary and then sent to the FCO (Foreign Commonwealth Office). The FCO then verify the translation.
